MODERN APPROACH TO INGUINAL HERNIA SURGERY

Summary. The article analyzes modern clinical guidelines for the repair of inguinal hernias. In 2018, Hernia Surge Group published hernia repair. Experts evaluated effectiveness, advantages and disadvantages many currently known methods repair, with a high level evidence recommended choosing two open (Shouldice Lichtenstein) laparoscopic techniques (TAPP TER). Shouldice operation is considered best if it decided to choose without mesh. However, trends in hernias still lean toward tension-free techniques, regardless age gender patient. Even young men various types hernias, use prolene mesh, which reduces risk recurrence impairing sexual function fertility indicators. Lichtenstein standard (anterior) endoscopic TAPP TEP repairs, mesh inserted into preperitoneal space, but differ access this space. Due technical complexity cost, primarily recurrent bilateral as well comorbid operations.
